The patient initially came in for an initial evaluation after her General Dentist perforated tooth #25 on the lingual while attempting a root canal, and then accidentally released a large amount of composite inside the tissue, causing the need for surgery. This was a very complex case which could only be completed by a highly skilled Endodontist.
Dr. Temple did the initial internal and external repair surgery on 10/13/2006. He then did a second periapical surgery on tooth #25 to reinforce the tooth structure on 2/20/19, with a follow up on 3/28/16 which showed by then it had fully healed.
The patient came in for a check up on 10/10/19, 13 years after the initial surgery, and the tooth is still asymptomatic and functional.
